Who we are

Community-Driven, dedicated to giving emfasis to Human Dignity

Emfasis Non-Profit is a privately-funded, non-profit initiative registered as a Civil Non-Profit Company (Astiki Mi Kerdoskopiki Etairia - AMKE), established in 2013 with the primary objective of restoring the dignity of individuals facing multiple forms of homelessness.

The organization operating in alignment with the pioneering principles of Social Streetwork, has been steadfastly dedicated to aiding and uplifting people lacking permanent or sufficient housing. This includes offering support to the chronically unemployed, families enduring extreme poverty, isolated elderly individuals teetering on the brink of homelessness and individuals residing in inadequate housing.

Save the Children believes every child deserves a future.

Our Structure

The Organization's Teams, comprising experienced Streetworkers such as psychologists, sociologists, and social workers, are supported by trained Volunteers and 3 Mobile Support Units. Together, they offer humanitarian aid, psychosocial counseling and family support.

At Emfasis Non-Profit we operate independently from governmental or european programs and rely solely on private donations and contributions from companies and foundations.

Our Reach

From the beginning, we have been actively involved in the broader Attica Region, with Athens and Piraeus our main reference points. Meanwhile, since 2018 we have played a role in assisting victims of natural disasters by implementing emergency relief initiatives (Mati, North Evia, Heraklion, Rhodes, Thessaly, etc).
Moreover, starting in March 2023, with the launch of the 1st National Benefit & Scope Program EmfaSEAs, we have expanded our activities across Greece. We are sharing the Streetwork methodology with professionals and volunteers while promoting the values of volunteerism.

Our Principles

Our Team plays a crucial role as a bridge between socially excluded groups and society at large. Guided by our core principles of "Support - Relieve - Empower," we aim to increase the visibility of people experiencing or threatened by homelesssness, contributing to their destigmatization.

  • Beneficiary-Lead Approach

We prioritize the needs and requests of our beneficiaries, addressing the challenges that arise from their unique circumstances.

  • Respect for Privacy & Confidentiality

We uphold the utmost respect for privacy, treating the information shared with us with the highest degree of confidentiality.

  • Consistency & Honesty

We build enduring and honest relationships with each individual we serve, aiming for stability and trust in our interactions.

  • Equality & Inclusion

We are committed to practices that promote equality and inclusivity, ensuring that our efforts empower beneficiaries without bias or prejudice.

  • Adaptability & Efficiency

We are adaptable and strive to achieve our desired outcomes in the shortest possible time frame while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and effectiveness.
