BusinessVoice.gr: "Mobile Life": Returns to Thessaly, Contributing to its "Rebirth"

Emfasis Non-Profit presents the "Mobile Life" programme one year after the devastating floods that hit Thessaly. This initiative is being launched in collaboration with the TIMA Charitable Foundation, Ayvens, Desmos Non-Profit, and Itamos Mouzaki Non-Profit Organization.

This project aims not only to provide immediate relief to those affected but also to rejuvenate local communities still grappling with the aftermath of the natural disaster.

The Mission of "Mobile Life"

"Mobile Life" is a mobile humanitarian aid unit specifically designed to offer ongoing support to areas in need.

The initiative focuses on three core pillars:

  1. Food Aid
Distributing essential food supplies to combat food insecurity of many families.
  2. Public Health Promotion
Providing medical supplies, equipment, and other necessities to local health centers.
  3. Psychosocial Support
Offering counseling and empowerment to families and individuals facing emotional and psychological challenges due to the disaster.

This initiative integrates Emfasis' extensive expertise in Social Streetwork and the flexibility of its mobile units, delivering support directly to vulnerable groups where it is most needed.

Social Responsibility in Action

The "Mobile Life" programme goes beyond temporary aid. Instead, it invests in Thessaly's future by enhancing community cohesion and cultivating hope for a brighter future.

“Our goal is to be meaningfully present in the lives of those who have been severely tested. 'Mobile Life' is a tool of solidarity and regeneration,” stated Maria Karra, co-founder of Emfasis Non-Profit.

The success of "Mobile Life" depends on collective effort. With the support of citizens, businesses, and organizations, we can offer even more to the people of Thessaly striving to rebuild their lives.

Voices of Support

  • TIMA Charitable Foundation:
"Daniel was an uninvited guest plunging already vulnerable elderly to further depths of despair. Psychological support, social work and food aid have been crucial in helping vulnerable households look towards the future, in which Emfasis' solidarity and community-building are offering a renewed sense of hope".
  • Itamos Mouzaki Civil Non-Profit Organization:
"We are deeply grateful to the volunteers and partners who travel from Athens to stand by our people in need. We’ve initiated a productive and sincere collaboration with the shared goal of supporting residents in the villages affected by the disaster. Together, we’re working for good outcomes. Thank you for your cooperation and assistance."
  • Kostas Petroutsos, Managing Director, Ayvens:
"At Ayvens, we believe that the key to the future lies in responsible behavior. We are committed to addressing major challenges of our time, from climate crises to social inequality. Through our contribution to 'Mobile Life,' we actively support Emfasis Non-Profit in its efforts to revitalize the affected areas of Thessaly."
  • Emily Kern, General Manager, Desmos Non-Profit:
"The 2023 floods in Thessaly were unprecedented, leaving behind incalculable destruction. The response of Desmos was based on experience from previous crises and close collaboration with organizations like Emfasis Non-Profit. Emfasis was our eyes and ears on the ground, providing reliable field information and often distributing the supplies we gathered for affected communities. Now, a year after the disaster, we’re expanding our partnership, offering food aid to elderly residents in remote villages of Thessaly through the 'Mobile Life' programme."
