Two new documentary films by Sotiris Danezis, with a central focus on humans and the environment, will be screened at the 25th Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival. Fifteen years after the Festival's tribute to the creator of the series “War Zone”, the experienced journalist and communications consultant returns to the halls, as director, for the premiere of the feature film “Roofless Dreams” and the mid-length documentary “Fishing for Litter”, on Saturday, March 4 at 18.30, in Warehouse 1, John Cassavetes Hall.
The”Roofless Dreams” turns our gaze to those we have all met on the side of the road, but some choose to pass them by in haste. To people who once had a job, a home, a family, friends and one day they lost it all. The documentary, which was produced with the support of”TIMA Charitable Foundation“, it chronicles for a year the stories of five survival protagonists who live in a state of homelessness and focuses on the efforts of the AMKE “Emfasis” to support them and keep them alive, under adverse conditions. Abuse, imprisonment, loss of loved ones, many of their “battles” resemble our own; the same goes for their dreams.
