At the official ceremony held yesterday, Tuesday 26 November at 19.00, in the building of the Old Parliament in Athens, Emfasis Foundation was awarded the “Quality Islands” award 2019. The award was presented by the President of the Republic Prokopis Pavlopoulos.
Congratulations to the colleagues from all the other organisations who have been awarded, for their important work, it was an honour to be among them.
We would like to especially thank the “Citizens' Movement for an Open Society” for the distinction in the Nisides Poiotitas Competition, which believed in our work, Melina Taprantzi from Wise Greece who took over the presentation of our team.
Above all, however, we would like to say a HUGE thank you to our volunteers who contribute daily to the streets of the city and help us make our goals a reality.
As Maria Karra, co-founder of Emfasis, said: ”Today's distinction belongs to our endless volunteers who logged 150,000 hours of human presence at the offer counter. For the people on the street — we promise to remain their voice by breaking down harmful stereotypes. Beyond numbers and statistics, one is the reason for our existence. Love in man. Congratulations to all the organizations awarded today, we thank the Citizens' Movement for an Open Society for their love and respect“.
